I wish you would incorporate a photo for the cover of the journal

After discovering that I could not access any of my entries, I contacted the developer through their website. A man named James promptly responded. He kindly and patiently worked with me to try to recover my entries. He suggested downloading their "classic" app and it worked. The loss of these memories was devastating, and would have been permanent if James had not taken so much of his time to help. I dont know if he is an owner, an employee, or something in between but I am certain that any business with someone like him is a business worthy of praise and worthy of supporting. Backed up regularly. Updated app. Months of journaling gone. Tried to backup/restore, nothing. Two different Dropbox files, one inaccessible one which had three or four DAYS of journaling. Seriously ill, disabled, the loss of this chronicle of the most difficult time in my 50 years on this earth. To think that it is all gone is heartbreaking. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Overall I am very happy with this app. I wish you could add videos. Once I deleted my Facebook, I missed journaling. This is a Great app for that.

I really do love this journal ,and if you could be able to put your name on journal cover it would be perfect!!!

This app is nearly perfect!! I love that it needs a password to be accessed, and I love all the options you have. What I wish it had is letting you just put a picture there without making it a back ground.

I love the app. It does everything I would like in a journal. I have only one request. I have used it on 2 different Itouches, & and an iPhone 5 , I have also used it with & without a password. In all cases, the app is very slow to open. I like the app too much to switch, but any speed enhancements( would be appreciated.

I dont normally write reviews, but this app is well worth one!!! My Daily Journal is worth every penny!!! Ive tried numerous journal, diary & writing apps & Ive used (or should I say that Ive tolerated a few) But NONE of them had the features that I was looking for. I like to be organized, I like my things to be a certain way & I write A LOT!!! So I needed a journal/diary/writing app that had the ability to hold more than one journal, for different subjects... Ect... & for $4.99 you get unlimited journals that are customizable! Thats awesome in my book!!! You can change your journal covers, you can change the fonts, you can change the paper, & each journal can be password protected if you prefer that... Im SOO happy with this app, that not only do I have it on my iPhone 6s Plus, I have it on my iPad as well!!! If youre someone who likes to write & if youre someone who likes to keep journals & diarys, if you write a lot & if you like organization, than this app is definitely for you! Im not in school, but I suppose if you are in school, that this would be an amazing app to have to take notes... Ect... I do read, study & research on a daily basis & I copy & paste a lot from both my iPhone & my iPad, I make a lot of lists & of course I write spit & Id honestly be lost without this app! My whole point is that if youre smart & you utilize this app properly, you could turn this app into your personal electronic filing system! Everythings password protected, imagine the possibilities! All of your important info in one place! If youre on the fence about spending money on this app. Fret no longer... BUY IT!!! Its worth every cent & you wont be disappointed!!! Im not a journaling type but I do love putting my thoughts down and when something extraordinary happens.

Ive used this journal app for years. Ive periodically viewed other apps, only because Id like integration with my Mac. But none compare to this one. What is a journal? A place to write your thoughts. A pen and a piece of paper. A word processor and a keyboard. Its the THOUGHTS that matter, not the method. If you want to keep a travel journal with pictures or document your kids activities, get a scrapbook app. Apps that try to do everything end up being unusable. The features of this app make sense for a traditional diary/journal. You want to record the date, including a prior date. The ability to categorize with tags is great if you want to review thoughts on a specific topic. This also makes it easy to turn your journal entries into a blog article if you want to. Choosing paper style and font mimic the way youd select a physical journal and pen. Choosing a font that feels like "you" adds to the experience of journaling. And thats what writing should be: an experience. I am so glad this app is still around and has retained its simple but key style and features. If you dont like it, get another app. Let the rest of us continue to enjoy this one.

Love the journal app but you need to update it! Running a bit slow and needs work

I think this is a good app, but I think that you should have unlimited journals for free. Because I want to have different journals and I have to pay $5 so Im not and I think that its STILL a great journal app.

I got the app just under a year ago to keep a daily journal of my 2nd sons first year. I kept a paper one for my 1st and it seemed easier to keep a digital one since we were planning on keeping a digital version for both eventually anyways. I liked the app very much because i could add pictures or change the fond and I could type the entry anywhere my phone was. The launching had gotten slower over the time I had it and I tried to keep backups in Dropbox which would sometimes take a loooong time to do. Now I cant open the version on the phone anymore, it just wont launch. Like someone described before, it would try and then go back to the home screen. Since the issue became that bad I have kept a separate journal, loaded the app on another device and can restore the back up but I still lost 12 days from before the backup. In principal it is a good app but if it cant handle all the data then there is no use. If you do use it, backup regularly!!!

It never ceases to amaze me that things that are fine the way they are get upgraded and changed for no reason. This new version does not work well. The font needs to be entered every time you make an entry. There is no done command now and the keyboard gets very slow and lags. It may be time to move on to something else if things dont get corrected. Do not download this unless you like being frustrated. Search function has stopped working with new version.
